Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix showed an early aptitude to play sports while studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting potential at the at the time. Within 10 weeks of her first attempt, she finished third in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and subsequently signed a pro-contract to Adidas. In the year 2004, she began her studies at her first year at the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs.
